Little Dragons

Little Dragons

Our Little Dragons programme has been designed to cater for children 4-6 years old. Its aim is to introduce basic skills through a mixture of simple games and fitness drills.

The programme will encourage the development of motor skills, balance, endurance, flexibility, strength, and hand, eye and foot coordination.

Self Defence

Self Defence

This is not a martial arts lesson.

You will be taught about the law, the aspect of reasonable force, stress and what the body goes through time of combat.

Here we aim to give you techniques that can be used within the bounds of the law that are one step up from restraints where you may have the risk of physical violence.

The breakaway and self-defence lessons have been designed for anybody who find them self’s alone doing their work, women who are worried about how to look after them self’s, to door staff that need the next steps from restraint to having to defend them self’s.

Ju-Jitsu

Ju-Jitsu

Our Sheffield Jiu Jitsu classes are more about self defence unlike other sports based martial arts. If you’re looking to learn self defence and get fit in the process then this programme is for you!

We offer classes for children aged 6 – 16 years and for adults too (aged 16+).

What is Jiu Jitsu?

Ju-jitsu is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed and unarmed opponent.

The word jujutsu is often spelled as jujitsu, ju-jitsu, jiu jitsu, jiu-jutsu or jiu-jitsu. “Ju” can be translated to mean “gentle, supple, flexible, pliable, or yielding.

“Jutsu” can be translated to mean “art” or “technique” and represents manipulating the opponent’s force against himself rather than confronting it with one’s own force.

Ju-jitsu developed among the samurai of feudal Japan as a method for defeating an armed and armored opponent in which one uses no weapon, or only a short weapon. Because striking against an armored opponent proved ineffective, practitioners learned that the most efficient methods for neutralizing an enemy took the form of pins, joint locks, and throws.

These techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker’s energy against him, rather than directly opposing it.

Kubo-Do

Kubo-Do

Kubo-Do is the training of traditional Japanese weapons.

We teach 10 forms of weapons including Sword, Bo, Jo, Nunchaku, Sai and Tonfa.

This is a full syllabus that stands alone from the Ju-Jitsu.
