Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Northern Martial Arts Academy ("NMAA", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We only collect what we need to run the club and keep our students safe.

Who we are

Northern Martial Arts Academy is a Ju Jitsu club run by Sensei Steve Ainscough, training at Centenary Works, Little London Road, Sheffield S8 0UJ and Dronfield Civic Centre, Dronfield S18 1PD.

We are the "data controller" for the information described here. For any privacy question, contact us:

What we collect

When you use our contact form: your first name, surname, email address, mobile number, the class you're interested in, how you heard about us, and your message.

When you or your child joins the club: name, date of birth, contact details, emergency contact details, and any medical or individual needs you choose to tell us about so we can teach safely.

When you use the "Ask us anything" chat: the questions you type, so the assistant can answer them. Please don't type personal or sensitive details into the chat.

Photos and video: we sometimes take photos or short videos at sessions and gradings. See "Photos of students" below.

Why we use it

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing emails without your permission.

Who we share it with

We only share information where it's needed to run the club:

Photos of students

We will only use photos or videos of a student on our website, social media or adverts with permission. For anyone under 18, that permission must come from a parent or guardian. You can say no, or change your mind at any time, and we'll stop using new images and remove existing ones where we can.
